02/08/2008  •  Currier Museum of Art Grand Reopening

MANCHESTER—The Currier Museum of Art will reopen on March 30 after a 21 month expansion. During the grand reopening week visitors to the museum will enjoy free admission. The museum’s entrance is now located at 150 Ash Street and additional parking is available in the new parking lot. Museum hours are Sunday, Monday, Wednesday – Friday 11a.m. – 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., open the first Thursday of each month 11 a.m. – 8 p.m., and closed Tuesday. During reopening week docents will be stationed throughout the museum in all of the newly reinstalled galleries to engage visitors, answer questions, and enjoy the museum with the public. Public Guided Tours and scheduled Guided Group Tours of the museum will resume on Monday, April 14. Public Tours will be offered daily, and are free with museum admission: Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 12:30 p.m. and 2 p.m., Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 1 p.m.

The Currier Art Center offers art classes, workshops and camps for all ages. During reopening week, visitors can take a first come, first served free Highlights Tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Zimmerman House. The ticketed Zimmerman House tours will resume on Monday, April 7.
